Who we are

Dugout is a youth baseball coaching and analytics platform operated by Ryan Sciandri ("we," "us," or "our"). Our website is www.getdugout.com and our app is at app.getdugout.com. You can reach us at ryan@getdugout.com.

What data we collect

We collect only the data necessary to provide the service:

Account data

• Your email address (via Google Sign-In)
• Your display name (from Google)
• Your team and league information (entered during setup)

Team and player data

• Player names, jersey numbers, and league ages
• Game statistics exported from GameChanger (batting, pitching, fielding)
• Pitch counts and game logs
• Coach notes you write within the app
• Player availability and position information

Payment data

• Subscription status and billing email (managed by Stripe — we do not store card numbers)

Usage data

• Pages visited and features used (via PostHog analytics, anonymized)
• Browser type and device (for debugging and performance)
• Sign-in timestamps

How we use your data

We use your data exclusively to provide and improve the Dugout service:

• To display your team's stats, recommendations, and coaching insights
• To authenticate you and enforce team access controls
• To process your subscription payment via Stripe
• To send transactional emails (invite links, confirmation emails)
• To understand which features are most useful and fix bugs

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data. We do not share player data with third parties.

Minor athletes and COPPA

Dugout is a tool for adult coaches, not for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

Coaches using Dugout may upload statistical data about youth players (ages 10–12) as part of team management. This data is:

• Entered and controlled entirely by the coach
• Used only to display stats within the coach's team account
• Never shared publicly or with third parties
• Deletable by the coach at any time

If you are a parent and believe your child's data has been uploaded to Dugout without appropriate authorization, please contact us at ryan@getdugout.com and we will remove it promptly.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored securely in Supabase (PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS) with row-level security enforced — coaches can only access their own team's data. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase — database and authentication
• Vercel — hosting and serverless functions
• Stripe — payment processing
• Resend — transactional email
• PostHog — usage analytics (no personally identifiable player data is sent)
• Anthropic Claude — AI-powered coaching insights (player stats are sent to Claude's API to generate recommendations; Anthropic does not use this data to train models per their API terms)
• Sentry — error tracking

Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription:

• Your login access is revoked immediately
• Your team data (players, stats, games) is retained for 90 days in case you return
• After 90 days, your team data is permanently deleted
• You can request immediate deletion at any time by emailing ryan@getdugout.com

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate data
• Deletion — request that we delete your account and data
• Portability — export your team's stats (CSV export is built into the app)

To exercise any of these rights, email ryan@getdugout.com. We'll respond within 30 days.

Cookies

We use cookies for authentication (to keep you signed in) and analytics. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels for ad targeting.

GameChanger relationship

Dugout is not affiliated with or endorsed by GameChanger (a Dick's Sporting Goods company). We process GameChanger CSV and PDF exports that coaches download from their own GameChanger accounts. We do not access GameChanger's systems directly or on your behalf.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify active subscribers by email before the changes take effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
