Get started with Dugout
in 6 steps

From your first login to your first stats - here's exactly what to do.

1

Go to app.getdugout.com, click "Sign in with Google", and use the email you signed up with. That's it - no password to create.

2

Export your Season CSV from GameChanger

This file has cumulative stats for every player across the whole season - batting averages, OBP, pitch counts, everything.

In GameChanger: Open your team → go to Season Stats → tap Export → select "Season Stats CSV". Save the file to your phone or computer.
3

Export your Boxscore PDFs

These give Dugout pitch counts, innings pitched, and game-level detail that the CSV doesn't include. You need one PDF per game.

In GameChanger: Open each game → tap Box ScoreExport PDF. Repeat for every game you want to import.
4

Sync your game schedule from GameChanger

Connect your GameChanger calendar so Dugout always knows your upcoming games and practices - automatically.

In GameChanger: Open your team → tap Schedule → tap the calendar icon or "Subscribe to Calendar" → copy the ICS link.

In Dugout: Go to Settings → paste the ICS link → tap Sync Schedule. Your full schedule syncs in seconds. Re-sync anytime you add or change games in GameChanger.
5

Upload to Dugout

In the Dugout app, go to Upload. Drop your CSV first - it sets up your roster. Then upload each game PDF one at a time.

Dugout reads and processes everything automatically. Usually under 30 seconds per file.

You're live ⚾

Your dashboard is ready. Here's what to check first:

Pitching — Strike % and pitch counts per pitcher.
Batting — OBP, QAB%, and who's hitting with runners on base.
AI Coach — Ask anything about your team in plain English. “Who should start on the mound Friday?” works great.

After every game

Your 2-step post-game routine

1. Upload the Box Score PDF

In GameChanger: open the game → Box Score → Export PDF. Upload to Dugout. This adds pitch counts, game-by-game stats, and opponent data.

2. Upload a fresh Season CSV

In GameChanger: Season Stats → Export CSV. Upload to Dugout. This refreshes cumulative batting and pitching averages for the whole season.

Both uploads together = the complete picture. Takes about 60 seconds. The more consistently you do it, the smarter your AI insights get.

Common questions

What if my CSV has errors?

Dugout will flag any issues and tell you exactly what to fix. Most CSV errors are easy to correct - wrong column names or extra rows that GameChanger adds during export.

How often should I upload?

After every game — both files. Upload the box score PDF to get game-level pitch counts and stats. Then export a fresh Season CSV from GameChanger and upload that too — it refreshes your cumulative season averages. Both together give Dugout the complete picture it needs for accurate AI coaching insights and recommendations. The whole routine takes about 60 seconds and makes a significant difference in the quality of what you get back.

What if I don't have all my PDFs yet?

Start with the CSV and whatever PDFs you have. You can upload more anytime - Dugout merges new data in without overwriting anything.

What's the difference between the CSV and the PDFs?

The CSV has cumulative season stats - totals for every player across all games. The PDFs add per-game detail: pitch counts, innings pitched, box score data, and individual game performance. Both together give you the full picture.
